On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, the Board of Directors of Ricewood Municipal Utility District and WCA brought a unique way to celebrate National Night Out to residents of the District.
At the request of the Board members and with an escort by deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, WCA-sponsored snow cone trucks made their way through the community offering free snow cones to residents living inside the boundaries of Ricewood MUD. Residents also had the opportunity to participate in a canned food drive as part of the efforts of the District to donate food to the hungry. Thanks to the generosity of residents, over 100lbs of non-perishable food items were donated!
National Night Out is an annual event geared at raising community awareness and familiarity with the first responders who serve communities around the U.S. Ricewood MUD cares about its residents and is always looking for ways to engage with those in the community. Remember to visit the District website regularly for future events and community engagement opportunities.
