Many residents should be receiving their January water bills soon and may notice that the fee charged by the West Harris County Regional Water Authority (WHCRWA) has increased again this year.
Ricewood MUD purchases the water it supplies to its residents from the WHCRWA. As of January 1, 2021, the WHCRWA has increased the purchase price from $3.60 per 1000 gallons to $3.85 per 1000 gallons. As in previous years, this cost is passed on to customers with no additional mark-up by Ricewood MUD.
Please note that the fee increase comes from the WHCRWA and is levied against all water supplied to the district. For more detailed information regarding the WHCRWA, its purpose, and its ongoing capital improvement projects, please visit www.whcrwa.com.
